Barbara Walters read a statement from Paris' Moms Kathy Hilton this morning on "The View" . Kathy is urging Earth to avoid following her stupid-ass daughter's example and when we're on probation for something? Don't f*ck it up.

Paris Hilton's mother Kathy took to the airwaves -- speaking through the oracle that is Barbara Walters on this morning's "The View" -- urging "young people who look up" to Paris to "learn" from her DUI arrest and impending imprisonment.
Babwa, friends with Kathy and husband "Ricky" for years, said she spoke to Mama Hilton yesterday, and read a brief statement from the convicted socialite's mom. "We can only hope that something positive will come out of this," said Walters for Kathy. "Hopefully the young people who look up to people like Paris can learn from this." Not to mention her videos.

Guest co-host, "D-lister" Kathy Griffin shot back at Babwa and the Hiltons, "If the 'Free Paris' T-shirts were more popular, she'd be singing a different tune."


God bless you, Kathy Griffin. I forgive you for betraying your "gays". And who in the hell looks up to Paris Hilton? Elijah Wood as Iggy Pop???

Former Hobbit Elijah Wood is to star as Iggy Pop in “The Passenger,” a biopic of the legendary rocker.

Pic is to be exec produced by Ted Hope’s This Is That Prods. and Traction Media, and repped in international territories by Oz-U.K. sales firm Becker Intl., which in Cannes is handling Directors Fortnight title “Control,” about Brit band Joy Division. Traction Media will handle rights in North America.

“Passenger,” which follows Pop’s early years with his band the Stooges, is to be helmed by Nick Gomez (”Drowning Mona”) from a script by Eric Schmid.

Pic will lense in next six months and is skedded for delivery by midsummer 2008. The $6 million-$8 million budget is being put together from a combination of pre-sales, a U.S. equity fund and tax credits from Philadelphia.

Pop has “given his blessing” to the project but will not take part in it, according to Becker’s head of finance and operations Jonathan Page. [icydk]

The former wife of Baywatch star David Hasselhoff has spoken out for the first time since the release of his drunken video, which showed the shirtless actor slurring his words and struggling to eat a hamburger.

The footage, which was shot by the couple’s daughter Taylor-Ann, 17, was just a small glimpse at his long term struggle, according to his ex wife Pamela Bach.

She told Us Weekly: “He has been to the emergency room at least 12 to 13 times at Cedars-Sinai - under aliases - for alcohol poisoning. He’s been through three rehabs - in 2001, 2002, and 2004.” Hasselhoff’s lawyer Melvin Goldsman denied both claims.

The couple were married for 16 years before divorcing in July of 2006 because of Hasselhoff’s problems with alcohol.

She said: “He was my best friend, and I was lucky to marry the love of my life. But over time, the disease eroded the relationship.”

Bach notes that despite his ongoing battle, his daughters Hayley, 14, and Taylor-Ann still want a relationship with him: “They absolutely love their father. They just want him to get better.” [icydk]

Relations between Britney Spears and her mom are reportedly becoming increasingly strained - so much so that the popstar refused to visit her in hospital on Mother's Day. "Britney has cut off all communication with her mom," a source told the National Enquirer. "She's gone from calling Lynne ten times a day to flat-out refusing to speak to her." Lynne Spears was hospitalized when a bad flu developed into pneumonia. Other tabs are also reporting the story. "Britney says her mom betrayed her and she refuses to get over it," says the source. "When she was told to give her mom a call, Britney said, 'I'm busy, I have my own kids now.'" [celebrity nation]
